I haven't posted anything for several weeks because I moved.  So everything I owned was boxed  or packed and didn't have much time to process or post.  In my new apartment and starting to get back to normal.  Did get out and shoot on the weekends so here are a few images from the past weeks.  And got my Nikon D7200 back from repair.  All images were taken with:  Nikon D7200, Sigma 150-600 sport lens on a monopod.  Eagle, Osprey, Great Blue Heron and seagulls were taken at Eastfork Lake; tree and white-crowned sparrow were taken at Armleder Park and the deer shots were at French Park in Cincinnati, Ohio..   Deer are starting to go into rut so I will be spending time trying to get some good buck photographs in the next few weeks.

Sunday morning I went to Eastfork State Park Batavia, Ohio to photograph insects.  Had a good day with little to no wind.  Was hoping to find butterflies resting and dew covered.  Didn't have much luck with that, but once the Sun was up they became very active.  Last two weekends I have been shooting with my older Nikon D300s body be cause my D7200 is in for repairs.  The Halloween Pennant dragonfly and eastern blue were shot with my old sigma 180 macro on a tripod with a release.  The rest of the photo were with Sigma 150-600 sport on monopod or the sigma 180 macro hand held.

It was one HOT weekend to be outdoors photographing nature!  Saturday got out early to photograph water lotus at Wetlands Park in Liberty Township Ohio.  The Lotus were in full bloom and in good shape.   Sunlight was a little harsh but they were still beautiful.  As a bonus got some nice shots of a tiger swallowtail.  All photos shot with a Nikon D300s.  Single lotus and butterfly with Sigma 150-600 sport Monopod.   Double Lotus w/ Sigma 17-70 contemporary lens hand held.

Sunday afternoon went back to Armleder Park in Cincinnati for a shot while until the Sun & Heat started to beat me down.  Caught a just fledged dickcissel in the field where I had been photographing his parents.  The Monarchs were feeding on the Milkweed plants in the same field.  Both shot with a Nikon D300s and a Sigma 150-600 Sport on a Monopod.

It was a Armleder Park (Cincinnati, Ohio) weekend both days.  The Copper butterfly hatch was in full swing with more numbers of butterflies the I have ever seen.   Got photos of both male and female Coppers.   Male  (no spots on top of wings.) Female has spots on top of wings.  Got out early to get shots of them sitting with dew still on there wings.  In addition I got my 1st photo of a Monarch this year.  After the dew burned off I set my sites on a pair of Dickcissel that were catching food for their young.

It rained most of the Holiday weekend.  I still got out to photograph when it wasn't storming.  Went to Ault park to try and get some hummingbird shots in the rain.   It was difficult because of the low light and keeping gear dry.   Did manage to acquire some OK shots it the gardens there.

On Monday the 4th I went to the Cincinnati Zoo in the rain.   Unfortunately many of the animals were not outside.

All photos Nikon D7200, Sigma 150-600 sport lens, on a monopod.
